The Role
Our internship program gives you true insight into a career in a
fast-paced in-house legal department, while helping you develop highly
sought-after skills that will help you jump start your career. You will
be exposed to all facets of the legal function in a global corporate
department. The position is located downtown Chicago in our corporate
headquarters in Willis Tower.
Interns will work on assigned projects with all members of Heidrick &
Struggles\' Legal Department and under the supervision of the General
Counsel and Assistant General Counsels. The general expectation is that
you\'ll be in the office at minimum two days a week.
Responsibilities
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising legal documents,
including contracts, agreements, policies, and internal memos.
Conduct legal research and preparation of written materials and
memoranda to guide members of the Legal Department.
Assist in employment law matters.

- Conduct legal research and application of regulations to Company
practices.
- Prepare and assist with the presentation of legal training across
our business lines.
- Work to improve operational aspects of internal Legal Department
functions.
- Participate in other special projects and various other duties as
assigned.
Required Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled as a 1L or 2L law student with strong
academic credentials.
Basic knowledge of corporate law, including but not limited to:
contract law, employment law, and federal securities laws.
Strong analytical and legal writing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
Ability to handle fast-paced/customer-focused environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional services background preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong
relationships with team members and key stakeholders.
Pay Range Guidelines for this Position:
The hourly range for this position is 27.50 USD to 27.50 USD.
Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to
education, work experience and skills.
