Scholarship money moves through DBT, which finds your bank account using your Aadhaar, not your account number. If your Aadhaar is not seeded, an approved scholarship simply never arrives.

What Aadhaar seeding actually means

It means your bank has linked your Aadhaar number to your account and flagged it for DBT. Having Aadhaar as address proof in your bank file is not the same thing. This is a specific mapping and it can be missing even on an active account.

How to check

- Use the Aadhaar-linked bank account status check on the UIDAI site or the NPCI mapper
- Or simply ask your bank branch to confirm your account is DBT-enabled and Aadhaar-seeded

How to fix it

Go to your bank branch with your Aadhaar card and passbook and ask for the account to be Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled. It is a short form. Allow a few days for it to reflect.

If you have more than one account

Only one account can be the Aadhaar-seeded one at a time. If you seeded an old account you no longer use, the money will go there. Seed the account you actually operate.

Do this before you apply, not after you are approved.
