Before You Apply
**Read the two categories before anything else, because which one you fall into changes both the marks you need and the money you get.**
This is a CSR programme run by Group Legrand India, started in 2018 for girl students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and extended in 2022 to differently-abled and LGBTQ+ students.
**General category — girl students**
- Open to girl students across India.
- You must be entering the **first year of a graduation degree in India**.
- You must have passed **Class 12 in 2025-26**.
- You need **80% or more in both Class 10 and Class 12**.
- Family income from all sources must be **under ₹5,00,000 a year**.
- Pays **80% of your course fees, up to ₹80,000 a year**.
**Special category — and this is the part almost nobody covers**
Same income limit, same first-year requirement, but the marks bar drops to **70% in Class 10 and 12**, and the site adds that exceptions may be considered case by case. It pays **80% of course fees up to ₹1,00,000 a year**. It is open to:
- differently-abled girl students
- students with a parent affected by Covid
- **LGBTQ+ students**
- students with a single parent, and orphans
- students with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and neurodivergent individuals
- girl students with differently-abled parents
If you are in any of those groups, apply through the Special category — you need ten percentage points less and you get twenty thousand rupees a year more.
**What you actually receive.** Three things, not one:
- The scholarship money, **paid until the end of your course** — not a single year.
- **Mentoring** from Legrand's senior leaders and subject-matter experts. The mentorship programme runs four months, one virtual session a month, with 25-30 mentors. 150 mentees have completed it so far.
- A **scholar helpline** on call, email and WhatsApp.
**How to apply.** Entirely online:
1. Click **Apply Now** in the header of the official site.
2. Register or log in with your email, mobile number or Google account.
3. Fill the **six-step application form** and upload your supporting documents.
4. Submit.
You choose your category — General or Special — at the start of the form.
**On the closing date: there isn't one published.** The site says applications are open and gives no last date anywhere, and there is no FAQ page carrying one. We will not print a date the programme has not announced. Treat that as a reason to apply early rather than a reason to relax — a CSR programme with a fixed number of places can close the moment it is full, and this page will be updated the day a date appears.
**One thing worth checking before you start.** The scholarship pays a percentage of your *course fees*, not a flat amount, so keep your fee structure on institute letterhead and your fee receipts ready — that is what the figure is calculated against.
Details checked on 28 August 2026. The programme can close without notice, so open the official page linked above before you apply.
We re-check every deadline on its official source. If this one moves, this page moves with it. How we check every date.
