MahaDBT Post-Matric Scholarship 2026-27 (Maharashtra): open
Maharashtra runs its post-matric schemes for SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, SBC and EWS students on the MahaDBT portal. The portal says fresh 2026-27 applications opened on 1 June 2026 and gives no closing date for them. Its 30 September 2026 date is for the earlier 2025-26 year, which still takes fresh and renewal applications until then.

Important: the portal moved
Applications for Post-Matric, Pre-Matric and related schemes are reported to run on the MahaDBT 2.0 portal now. If you have an old login, check it still works well before the deadline rather than on the last day.
The two dates on the portal, and which one is yours
The MahaDBT home page runs two notices side by side, and they belong to different academic years. Read the year, not just the date.
- 2026-27, the current year. "Fresh Application acceptance for the new academic year 2026-27 will commence from 1st June, 2026." The portal gives an opening date and no closing date. So there is no last date to miss yet, and none to quote.
- 2025-26, the earlier year. "Application (Fresh/Renewal) for Earlier Academic Year 2025-26 will continue upto 30th Sept, 2026." If you missed last year, or you are renewing last year's award, that window closes on 30 September 2026.
We previously showed 30 September 2026 as the 2026-27 last date. It is not; it belongs to 2025-26, and we have corrected it.
Because no 2026-27 closing date has been announced, the state can set one at short notice. Apply as soon as your documents are ready rather than waiting for a date to appear.
Documents to keep ready
- Domicile certificate
- Caste certificate, plus caste validity where your scheme asks for it
- Fresh income certificate
- Aadhaar seeded with your bank account
- Previous marksheets, admission proof, fee receipt, bonafide certificate
- Bank passbook and a passport-size photo
