UP Scholarship 2026-27: fresh registration is open
Uttar Pradesh runs pre-matric and post-matric scholarships on scholarship.up.gov.in. Checked on 29 August 2026: the portal is accepting fresh 2026-27 registrations for Class 9-10 and Class 11-12 under all three welfare departments. The portal publishes no student last date on any page we can read, so treat its own 2026-27 timetables as the authority. Open now; no closing date announced.

What the portal shows today
Checked on 29 August 2026. The portal's registration page is headed "छात्र पंजीकरण / Student Registration (2026-27)" and offers "नवीन आवेदन (Fresh Registration)" for both Prematric (Class 9-10) and Postmatric Intermediate (Class 11-12), under all three departments: समाज कल्याण विभाग (ST, SC and General), पिछड़ा वर्ग कल्याण विभाग (OBC) and अल्पसंख्यक कल्याण विभाग (Minority). A separate Prematric route is listed for children of parents in unclean occupations. Opening the Class 9-10 fresh form leads to a live OTR verification step, not a closed-window notice.
This page previously carried an 11 to 25 August 2026 window. That came from secondary reports rather than from the portal, and the portal contradicts the closed half of it, so it has been removed rather than replaced. No page on scholarship.up.gov.in states a student last date in a form we can read.
Where the official dates live
The portal home page carries a Timetables table with the 2026-27 schedules, both issued 20-07-2026: "Postmatric (2026-27), SC, ST, General, Minority, OBC" and "Prematric (2026-27), SC, ST, General, Minority, OBC". Each row links a Hindi PDF. Those PDFs are the authority on your last date and they outrank this page. Open the one for your level before you plan.
OTR comes first, and it is compulsory
The portal states that from session 2025-26 onwards One Time Registration is mandatory: "शैक्षिक सत्र 2025-26 से उत्तर प्रदेश छात्रवृत्ति पोर्टल पर OTR (वन टाइम रजिस्ट्रेशन) अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है।" You cannot apply for any UP scholarship until your OTR is done, so do that first. Renewal students apply directly without a new registration.
Who can apply
- Domiciled in Uttar Pradesh
- Pre-matric (Class 9-10) or post-matric (Class 11 onwards, including degree courses)
- General, SC, ST, OBC and minority categories, each with its own scheme and income limit
Documents to have ready
- UP domicile certificate
- Caste certificate (if applying under a reserved category)
- Income certificate, freshly issued
- Aadhaar seeded with your bank account
- Previous marksheets, admission and fee receipt
- Bank passbook and photo
