What these are

"Post-matric" covers everything after Class 10: Class 11-12, ITI, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The central post-matric schemes for SC, ST, OBC/EBC and minority students run through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and cover maintenance allowance and fee support. Amounts and income ceilings differ scheme by scheme, open your community's scheme page on NSP and check the exact ceiling before applying.

Dates verified on the NSP portal (28 July 2026)

  • Portal opened: 1 June 2026
  • Last date for students: 31 October 2026
  • Institute verification: by 15 November 2026

Your college may keep an internal cut-off a few days earlier to finish its verification, check with your scholarship/exam cell now, not in October.

Documents to keep ready

  • Caste/community certificate (with validity certificate where applicable)
  • Fresh income certificate from the competent authority
  • Aadhaar, seeded with your bank account
  • Previous marksheets, admission proof/bonafide, fee receipt
  • Bank passbook, passport-size photo

How to apply

1. Do One-Time Registration (OTR) on NSP first, see our OTR guide on this site
2. Log in, pick your scheme (NSP allows one merit-based plus welfare-based schemes as eligible), fill the form, upload documents, submit
3. Track status on the portal and follow up with your college for verification

State post-matric schemes (like Maharashtra's MahaDBT) run on separate state portals with their own deadlines, we track those separately on this site.

We re-check every deadline on its official source. If this one moves, this page moves with it. How we check every date.
