NSP Pre-Matric Scholarships 2026-27 for school students: last date 31 August
For SC, ST, OBC, minority and differently-abled school students up to Class 10. This one closes 31 August 2026, two full months before the post-matric deadline. If you are in college, this is the one to forward to your younger brother or sister.
What these are
Pre-matric scholarships support school students (up to Class 10) from SC, ST, OBC, minority and differently-abled backgrounds, mostly Classes 9 and 10, with some schemes (like the minority pre-matric) covering earlier classes too. They run on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), separately from the post-matric schemes.
The date that matters
Multiple scholarship trackers list 31 August 2026 as the pre-matric last date for 2026-27, two months before the post-matric deadline. Confirm the exact date for your scheme on the NSP portal when applying, and don't wait for the last week.

- Caste/community certificate (as applicable to the scheme)
- Fresh income certificate
- Aadhaar (seeded with a bank account, the student's or as the scheme allows)
- Previous class marksheet, school bonafide certificate
- Bank passbook, passport-size photo

2. Log in, choose the pre-matric scheme for your community, fill and submit
3. The school verifies applications after submission, inform the school office once you apply
